Excuse me, Sir. That’s not a 1611.

I get really bothered by all of my King James Onlyist brothers hammering their “1611” Bibles and insisting that Christians must use the “1611” exclusively if we are to read the pure, perfect, and properly preserved Words of God. The problem is, the vast majority of these brothers are carrying around a counterfeit (to borrow from their vocabulary). I haven’t met a single King James Onlyist in person (and I’ve met many) that had an actual 1611 in their hand.

Now they’ll argue that nothing has been changed in later releases of the KJV – nothing more than spelling updates and some minor printing errors. “But the KJV is still perfectly preserved” they insist. It’s beyond me how a divinely preserved product can even have “printing errors” to begin with – does the promise to “keep” and “preserve” the text in Psalm 12:7 not apply to the printing process? If not, what exactly is kept and preserved?

All this aside, I felt it was important to know that an actual 1611 differs in many places from today’s King James Bibles. You can check the first few pages of your own KJV – it’ll probably reveal your own version to be a 1769 Blayney, or something similar. Since my King James Onlyist brothers love charts (especially those butchered and sewed together by one Gail Riplinger), I thought I would start to build my own KJV vs KJV chart to show some of the differences between the 1611 (called ‘perfect’ and ‘infallible’) and the KJV’s that are in use today by King James Onlyists (also called ‘perfect’ and ‘infallible’).

Note how Satan perverted the 1611. Fortunately, his efforts were thwarted in later versions of the KJV!

15:20	Remember the word that I said vnto you, The seruant is not greater then the Lord: if they haue persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they haue kept my saying, they will keepe yours also.	Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.	The 1611 demolishes the relationship between the servant and the lord by making it “the Lord” rather than the affectionate “his lord” in the present KJV!

Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.	What type of edification was it? Godly edification, or not!?
1 John
5:12	Hee that hath the Sonne, hath life; and hee that hath not the Sonne, hath not life.	He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.	Look at the way the 1611 tries to demote Christ from the “Son of God” to just the “son”.
